Effect of Oxidative Stress on Bone Remodeling in Periprosthetic Osteolysis

چکیده

Abstract The success of implant performance and arthroplasty is based on several factors, including oxidative stress-induced osteolysis. Oxidative stress a key factor the inflammatory response. Implant biomaterials can release wear particles which may elicit adverse reactions in patients, such as local response leading to tissue damage, eventually results loosening implant. Wear debris undergo phagocytosis by macrophages, inducing low-grade chronic inflammation reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. In addition, ROS also be directly produced prosthetic biomaterial oxidation. Overall, amplify stimulate both RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis osteoblast apoptosis, resulting bone resorption, periprosthetic Therefore, growing understanding mechanism osteolysis anti-oxidant strategies design well addition agents will help improve implants’ performances therapeutic approaches.

Bone remodeling, particle disease and individual susceptibility to periprosthetic osteolysis.

Bone remodeling is a tightly coupled process consisting of repetitive cycles of bone resorption and formation. Both processes are governed by mechanical signals, which operate in conjunction with local and systemic factors in a discrete anatomic structure designated a basic multicellular unit (BMU). The microenvironment around total joint arthroplasty is a dynamic and complex milieu influenced ...

Effect of robotic milling on periprosthetic bone remodeling.

The ROBODOC system has provided better fit and fill of the stem and less destruction of the bony architecture than with manual surgery. These benefits might affect femoral periprosthetic bone remodeling. We evaluated the effects of robotic milling in cementless total hip arthroplasty (THA) in a longitudinal 24-month follow-up study using dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) and plain radiogr...

Periprosthetic bone remodeling around short stem.

Total hip arthroplasty (THA) has become standard treatment for advanced degenerative changes of the hip. A few studies have reported promising clinical outcomes with the Metha stem fixated by metaphyseal anchoring. This study evaluated early bone remodeling around the Metha stem during 12 months of follow-up. The study population included 36 patients (18 women and 18 men) with a mean age of 50....

the effect of e-64 on the developmental competence of sheep cocs during in vitro maturation

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.
